Glad I'm so predictable.

I'm making chicken soup tonight since it's cold and I feel crappy-- and in your honor, I'm going to cook the chicken until it's a stringy, chin-burning mess.

Maybe the burning chin will take your mind off your other ailments.

So, what do you put in your chicken soup? Tomatoes? Andouille? Chili powder?

Are you cooking and serving at the same place? Cause that'll be a pain in the arse moving that pot around.

Nah, I'm either gonna cook it at the house or out in the man cave Wed or Thurs. It's for a buddy's announcement party Saturday night at a country club. I agree, moving 150lbs of gumbo is going to be challenging.

Mr. Balls, is the gumbo the only entree? If not, you wouldn't need as much.

Yep but all the other hosts wives are bringing dips, finger foods and whatnot. They decided the cater was to expensive and put me in charge of cooking a couple wash tubs full of gumbo. Most of these people will be around my age (30-35) and we are gonna have beer, wine, and whiskey. I'm thinking they aren't gonna eat a whole lot, but I damn sure don't want to run out...

I always overcook for this type of event for the very same reason. Even though I know folks will be drinking up a storm and munching, I live in fear that I'll run out of food, which would be unforgivable. If they're drinking a lot, they could eat twice, though! I've had that happen. Folks get some food early, then drink a lot and come back for more.

I'm tired of arguing about gumbo, can't wait for crawfish season to get in full swing so I can tell everyone that my way is the best.
