If you have a fry daddy or some other deep fryer appliance, how long do you go without changing your oil? I use my fryer about once every two months and I cant stomach reusing oil that has been sitting there with debris in it from the last fry. Do you change it out after every fry, or do you try to get multiple uses out of it?

I strain my oil into a jug and save it. Clean out the bits and pick up the fryer till I'm ready to use it again. I start with almost a half gallon in my fryer and add a little each time. Whenever I have to open a new bottle it's normally time to throw away the oil.

We fry chicken about once a month..we usually use the oil at least twice but rarely more than that. When we're done using it I strain and pour into a mason jar and into the freezer it goes until we need to use it again, and we've never had any off-taste issues. But about 2x is all we typically get out of it (peanut oil).

When the oil turns very dark.

Usually I get at least 8-10 uses before I switch out the oil.

I always strain the oil after each use.

Run it through cheese cloth.. Fold the cloth a couple times and stretch it across a bowl.

The oil tells you when it needs to be changed. No need to change it before that.
