I'm going to be in Houston for a couple of nights next month. Looking for recommendations on local brewery taprooms to visit. The only Houston brewery I've been to was Karbach a couple of years ago. Any recommendations on places to eat with good local tap selections would help too.

Spindletap looks promising. Can't say I've been there but it is next on my list.

Whole Foods Post Oak.

Best consistent hoppy beer brewery in Texas.

Brash is awesome, and if you have time and transportation, Copperhead and B-52 in Conroe have been brewing some delicious stuff as well.

Time looks slightly constrained, so I don't think I can make it to Conroe. Looks like the girlfriend wants to go to St Arnold, so I was looking at some of the others fairly nearby. Anyone have experience with and/or opinions on *8th Wonder, Holler Brewing, Platypus Brewing, and Buffalo Bayou?

8th Wonder and Buffalo Bayou are terrible. Platypus isn’t far ahead.

I dig Holler. Could do Eureka Heights, Great Heights, Brash and Holler and have a nice run. Even through in a stop at Petrol Station for a couple and a burger.

Spindletap is great but in no-mans land.

I’ll second Whole Foods in Post Oak as far as best brewery/beer in Houston, but if you are looking for brewery atmosphere at the end of the day you’re still drinking in a grocery store

ETA: Saint Arnold is solid
