Finally tried that place yesterday and I have to say I was not impressed whatsoever. No clue what others think of the place but I thought the food was bland. I didn’t get crawfish but it smelled good, so there’s at least that. I had fried fish and it was super bland. The fried okra was good and my wife liked her salad but after eating leftovers earlier, I was reminded just how bland the fish was. I don’t think they used any seasoning in the batter.

People must like the place because it’s still open and nearly packed a year after opening so I must be in the minority. Maybe most go there for the crawfish, I don’t know, but I was not impressed at all. What’s the board’s general opinion of the restaurant?

It’s fricking terrible. I stop in to have a beer every once in a while but won’t eat the food.

I like it but have not had the catfish. I usually get gumbo and one of the sandwiches (usually crab sandwich).

It’s been very good every time I have been. Surprised to hear that it was bland as everything I have had has been well seasoned.

I've been there many times and the food are always seasoned. Maybe your taste has grown to like things way spicier than normal but it's always good. Nothing is ever cold, it's always fresh. As far as the crawfish go, I remember getting some last season and them being WELL seasoned. To each his own though.

The food at the one in New Roads is better, that's for sure.

shite, the one in New Roads - I just assume they are trying to burn your arse out. But that’s how I like it. Nothing bland about it.
