I guess this could have gone on the food board but i wanted a quick answer

ETA: The Yays have it.

Franks hot sauce or Louisiana hot sauce, or the wild card- Cholula?

I like to put jalapeno rings in mine. Chopped pickles is also good if I do not have peppers. Must be the vinegar

A dash of vinegar and some red pepper flakes negate the need for hot sauce. If they aren't available a few dashes of hot sauce can liven up a plate of pasta.

used to always see this stuff in the LSU cafeterias, would you describe its taste as flavorful or gimickily (a word? not sure) hot? Or a middle-ground between the two?

Absolutely. That's the only way I eat spaghetti. Loads of tabasco, Louisiana or crystal
