I'm sure this goes without saying, but don't forget the priming sugar

Bottled up my first all grain last night. I did an IPA:

Grain bill:
12 lb pale
1 lb Victory
1 lb Rye
1 lb Crystal 40L

OG - 1.060
FG - 1.010
ABV: 6.55%

Pre-carbonating taste was actually really good. Very happy with my first results.

Going for my second attempt at an oatmeal stout. My recipe has some crystal 75 in it to give it a slight biscuity taste. I was wondering if i should bother toasting the oats this time, if that will contribute any noticable tastes or if it's a waste of time.

Here is the grain bill, if i can remember it right.

71% maris otter
9% flaked oats
6% roasted barley
5% chocolate Malt
4% Coffee malt
3% de bittered black carafa 3
2% Crystal 75L

I've got 4 in bottles almost ready to drink. I'll be making a wheat beer and a Belgian Pale in the next week or two. I've done 5 in the last 3 weeks.

I am going to give brewing with an infant a try today. I want to brew a big barley wine bug I'm unsure if I have enough grain, so I'll probably just make two beers this week instead of one big one.

A stout may be on the docket today. Wish me luck.

Best of luck and congrats.

My saison won our brew-off this past weekend, which was surprising. I thought there were better beers there, but I'll take the win. Now I wait and see how it stacks up in some other competitions.

Congrats!

Can't wait to start putting my brews into competition.

Just bought some grains for a Belgian Wit. I'll probably do it Saturday or Sunday.

Well not surprisingly, brewing isn't happening today. Will try again tomorrow. Today had to go get a tire changed on the mommy mobile. Took longer than expected.

Put together an oatmeal stout recipe. Almost had all the ingredients, subbing out some cara aroma for the crystal 80 and a quarter lb of chocolate that I didn't have. Should work fine

I have 10-15 lbs of Crystal 75 and Thomas Fawcett Chocolate if you need any.

Whats your take on the recent ATC crack down on homebrew at fund raising events?

Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get bulk grains to BR is? Local place or otherwise?

Just starting to store grains for use and I wanna find the best way to get started.

How much grain are you looking to buy? Are you talking a few pounds or a few sacks at a time?

ETA: Contact Keith over at LA Homebrew. The shop is not officially open, but he should be able to help you out. keith at lahomebrew.com
