Thanks! The cc they had on file was stolen by some fat douchebag and I had to cancel it.

On the line with them now to get it back up.

I have 1 maybe 2 to enter. Big beers and waiting until the last minute just didn't work out for me this time around.

Anyone get their score sheets back from Dixie Cup?

Yep, got them late last week.

It's funny that the tartness that the judges loved in my peach wheat last year was seen as a flaw this year. I need to check my sanitation practices.

The coffee vanilla porter scored a 40.5, but with scores of 42 and 39. Interesting to see the comments from the judges and their individual perceptions that can be quite different from one another.

competitions can be such a crap shoot some times.

I had a beer score 40 and it didn't even make it to the mini-bos. Id really like to get the notes on that one before entering it again.

Plan to brew next weekend. Brewing my Coffee oatmeal stout. I have 17.6 lbs of grains, and 2 lbs of that is flaked oats (12%). How many lbs of rice hulls should i use?

I used a pound of flaked oats in my coffee porter with 16.25 lbs of grain and have never used any rice hulls. Obviously, you'll have more flaked oats in your recipe, but I'd think half a pound of rice hulls should be plenty. Half a pound is a lot when you look at it.

Been thinking about upgrading the mash tun with some parts from Brewhardware.com

That site is so entertaining.

The one on the right compared to what I have on the left.

What would be the benefit of upgrading to the larger siphon?

Been worrying and wondering if that's been an issue with some of my flow or clogging concerns.

Plus it's a very cheap part to replace that section and I've got some other things in mind to buy soon.

I think technically, no. Even if they mill them they hardly get touched.

So I'm trying to get a parts list together of what I need to complete my keg setup.

This is what I have so far.

Plan on converting my upright over under beer fridge to a 2 tap kegerator.
