Well i decided i'm brewing Sunday. Hopefully it doesn't rain. If it does, i guess i'll have some natural sky water in my brew.

I need to do some bottling this weekend so that I can free up a fermenter to dry hop 5 gallons from my plastic barrel. I'll probably wait until next weekend to brew up 7 gallons of base beer to get the barrel up to 14+ gallons.

Sunday Session - Has some interesting stuff on beer, but is also entertaining. It doesn't really have too much "how to" information. It's more of an entertainment show revolving around beer.

The 4th hour is usually the most entertaining. :)

Why not just dry hop in the plastic barrel?

I'm in the car all day everyday (100-200 miles) can anyone recommend a homebrewing podcast or some podcast related to beer? TIA

I was doing the same thing for the last two years and I listened to 8 years of the sunday session.

I listened to one or two episodes that were modern and realized I wanted to hear it all so I went back and started from the beginning. The production quality wasn't where it's at now back in the day but they talked a lot about homebrew. If you've seriously got that much time to kill it can be a great way to do it. Always kept me LOLing in my truck and I learned a whole lot.

I don't want to dry hop the entire 13 gallons. I'm only dry hopping 5 to share with a friend. I'll top the barrel off and add some souring bugs and then leave it alone for 4 to 6 months.

So what's the deal on this new homebrew shop that's opening near my house? I heard it was going to be discussed on zwanze day at avenue pub.

Its run by a guy in Red Stick Brewmasters, nice guy. Knowledgeable. right now his store front is not zoned for retail, so the plan is to operate as an online store and either have stuff available for pick-up or shipping. LA Homebrew is the name. Site still is not up yet so I guess technically its not open.

Where's the site? Barringer Foreman and airline is in the works of making that whole area retail and shops.

Site meaning actual location? 7987 Pecue Lane, Suite 8-H

Website is eerily similar to the name with a dot com at the end.

I'm bottling an Amber tonight. I need to clear out a fermenter because all three of mine are full. I really need to get me another fermenter or two.

Episode 1 might not impress you at all. I picked the Abita episode and listened to that first then started at 1 and was like "How does this show make it long enough to be a self sustaining business?" Turns out they did it. Still kicking and every show just keeps on getting better.

It was good to go through the growing pains with them though. I understand all of the inside jokes and backstory to what's going on now.

Good information. Funny hosts who get drunk and have crude humor by the end of the show and callers that contribute radio gold.

It takes a long long time.

It's kind of cool to hear vinny come on way back then before they started bottling Pliny and the sours were all new to them back then.

That and they've hit so many people in the industry by now and those people all have such great stories to tell.

Mufasa from St. Arnold/BJ's is absolutely hilarious.

Brewing on the cheap might be an interesting episode for you. Just ways to minimize equipment and keep things as simple as possible.

Hell, just recently they've had the owner from Moylans on for the first time and he and his wife had me ROLLING. Didn't want to get out of the car once I got home.
