I'd be really surprised if Anders doesn't show up. He doesn't have anything scheduled those two nights.

While Saturday may have more music options, I would not skip out on Friday. It's a sh*tshow in the yard. 90 teams = 90 parties. Not to be missed. You should see what us competitors look like Saturday AM. They didn't shut it down Friday last year until the cops showed up at like 3am bc Zach Strief wouldnt crank down his party....

I'm sure it's fun if you have friends who are competing and can hang out with but I honestly don't see the intrigue for Friday otherwise. There isn't any BBQ to sample.

Exactly. We have 1000s of posts on an internet message board for a reason. We don't have friends.

Hahaha. I know we open our party up to anyone. Most teams do. Its just fun to walk down the road from tent to tent and see it all. Much different than on Saturday bc there is no serving. Just wilder.

LOL I know some people that are associated w/ some groups but I'm not good friends. I'd rather just go Saturday. (which I will do)

I'll wear my Pimm's shirt again if you were that bra and fish nets again.

My frind who cooks described it exactly as you did.

He said the big hit last year was the guys from Arkanasas who came down with the biggest hog that any of our local boys had ever seen. Not sure what was more amazing, the hog or the fact that they got it on the grill.

A nice spring night, outdoors in City Park with booze and a few bands not enough for your high standards?

Strangely, Hogs has been described by our female attendees as the best place to meet men in New Orleans. So you should just pose as a member of a team, Neauxla.

Can I buy a ticket for Friday at the gate? If so, and I have nothing else going on I'll come hang out w/ your group.

Yes but is that where men (like Neauxla) want to meet women...that is the question.

I went the first year they had it, but haven't been able to go back since. I remember the teams handing out lots of BBQ for free by the end of the event (far more than I could eat). Do they still do this?

Men want to meet women anywhere. And what better place than a music fest with beer and girls who have a prior established affinity for meat?

Yeah, I guess I wont have to worry about meeting a vegetarian at Hogs.

That was year two. Year one had no teams and just two guys with a 90% cooked pig and three kegs. Trust me, no one was there.
