Does anyone here have a himalayan salt block? was thinking of christmas ideas and this came to mind. I have never used one nor have i had a steak cooked on one. Does it really add much to the flavor? is it possible to get any sort of decent char on the steak?

I have one and basically only use it to "marinate". Haven't actually used it to cook on it. It does add a pretty good bit of salt flavor when you set your meat on it for an hour or so.

Steak & Shrimp on Salt Block

Don't have one, but here's a short video where he uses it on a grill.

The aura eliminates bad chi. You have to get it blessed by a Tibetan monk though

Seems impractical and like a gimmick...

What if the monk is 63% Tibetan monk and the rest Shaolin?

I have one. Haven’t used it in years. It takes forever to heat up and cool down. You have to be very careful when heating and cooling to not have it crack in half.

The flavor is nice. But I don’t find that it’s worth the time and effort
