With the incredible growth the craft beer industry has been growing through, you would think the restaurant industry would take advantage of it.

Maybe they are worried about availability on a consistent basis?

If so, at least get Sweetwater, Terrapin, Founders, etc. that are what I call MegaCraft breweries.

In terms of distribution, is Ascension part of the BR market, or is it its own entity?

I'm just curious what brews are available to those restaurants.

Everything available to BR is available to AP places. There are a couple bars with decent tap lists.

I disagree about New Orleans restaurants. Compared to similar culinary cities in America, New Orleans is still way behind the times as it relates to craft beer.

I disagree with that considering New Orleans distribution. I think restaurants for the most part are more in tuned to craft beer than its patrons.

Meh. Nothing wrong with distribution for a restaurant.
A craft beer bar yeah it's tougher. But a restaurant you got SoPro, Parish, Great Raft, Founders, Terrapin, Sweetwater, plenty of good shite to offer better options than Abita Amber which half of the restaurants around town that's the best option.

What you said was, anyone shopping at Whole Foods is wasting their money because you can shop at Walmart for less. Now you are comparing Lagneaux's to Whole Foods. Sorry but the price isn't that much different. So you are wasting your money on steaks or you're still too dumb to figure out how to shop at Whole Foods, including drinking a beer at the bar before buying a six pack. Takes a little thinking, which you fall way short of, being a simpleton

Seriously Joseph. Have you ever tried pairing wine/beer with food?

Of course! I love a ice cold Budweiser with crawfish, crabs and oysters. Are you kidding?

Thanks for all the help folks! And thanks for the entertainment, joe. By the way, I had the first three IPA's ever served at Sammy's in P'Ville (according to bartender). And joe, had some good food to boot! Who woulda thunk?

Not a lot of demand as far as I know. Not the same amount of demand as for large varieties of wine and mixed drinks for sure. Louisiana will catch up though. Abita just has such a strong grip on the state with good prices and quality beers, the average person doesn't try to go farther than that

Glad to know Sammy found some hops. It's a mystery why places in Ascension, and BR for that matter, don't see the value in offering decent craft beer (which is NOT Abita and Sam Adams). If startup bars can get kegs of Sweetwater, Founders, Green Flash, Terrapin, etc., then an established place that's been buying barrel after barrel of swill from Mockler for many years can too. At least most have started carrying Canebrake, but why not at least carry a few bottles of something more creative and watch how it sells if you don't want to convert a precious tap off that fine BMC product. I'll go to The Chimes and Parrains 9 times out of 10 over their competition because they get that. I want to drink good beer while I'm having a casual meal out.

And Mr. LeBlanc, I can't decide whether you'd be more fun to work with, go out drinking with or go shopping with. I'm sure any of the three would be a great time, let me get back with you to set something up. K? Thanks.

Joe is the same guy that can't figure out why Whole Foods has a bar.

You are 100% correct on that tigerfootball10. I wouldn't be caught dead drinking there.

If you're too dumb to realize that Whole Foods has a bar so that a man can sit down and drink a beer while checking out all the yoga pants wearing hotties, then I don't know what to tell you.

I don't know, Joseph. You're a troll on an Internet message board. That's pretty pathetic.

There's a whole new world out there for me before 10AM, Rouge. I just needed to wake up and see it.

...it's raining. This new world sucks.
