Has anyone ever toasted their rice for jambalaya

The gumbolaya thread got me thinking.
For a lot of dishes, I toast my rice in oil before adding water.
It would be a pain in the backside, but at the same time, I could see it adding one more depth of flavor to the dish.

After my vegetables are done cooking i pour the rice in with them for about 5-7 minutes before I pour my stock in.

i know besh toasted his rice with the veg and meat before adding stock

I do that with risotto.
At that point in my jambalaya, I’m cooking my onions and ready to add liquid to break up the fond on the bottom of the pot.

This.....I make spanish rice the same way.

After I brown meats, then veggies, then toast the rice in with veggies/meats, then put stock...
