Hard Sausage

Not the same as hard salami
My Grandpa grew up eating it & until about 10 years ago it could be found at a grocery store in Independence, LA.
They closed down & no one ever got the actual name or brand.
My Dad said it’s a cross between a summer sausage & pepperoni, it was also called silver sausage because it was wrapped in foil in the deli case, they always called it hard sausage.
They would slice it up & eat it with olives.
Does anyone have any ideas?
My Dad has been searching for the last couple of years & can’t find anything similar.
