Had LaBBQ in ATX this weekend.

It was pretty good, had regular and beef ribs, brisket, and 2 kinds of sausage. My only complaint, and it is really a pretty big one, was the bark on everything was incredibly salty. So much so that I didn't eat it. The "inside" of the meat was as pretty much anything I've ever had. The sausage was also excellent, and I usually don't like Texas barbecue sausage as opposed to what you can get in Louisiana because of the greasiness.
As always the beans sucked. Chili style pinto beans that Texas joints do just isn't great, imo. I've never had anything that tastes better than anything I can make out of a can on a stove. Mac and cheese was good.
All in all, it was really good, but the salty bark puts it definitely below Pecan Lodge in Dallas for me.

How does it compare to Franklin? I’ve heard it’s on par. Maybe not.

I had La BBQ once at the height of the Franklin Craze and remember it being pretty good, but certainly not on par with Franklin’s.
I really like Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ as well. The beef rib there was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
