I will be heading through the Natchitoches area on Monday and I was looking for a new place to eat. Somewhere other than Mariner, Landing, Mama's/Papa's, Trail Boss, Antoon's, or Nicky's. Preferably some semi unknown place. Thanks

Yeah isn't Lasyone's only open for lunch though? Whenever I go I always have to get red beans and rice and some meatpies. Antoon's is alright.

This is what I was going to suggest. Almost Home was pretty good whenever I went there once.

You should go to Southern Classic Fried Chicken.

(It's not a dark place, if you know what I'm sayin')

almost home is a lunch spot on the lake.....its a lunch plate type place......buffet of beans, cornbread, dumplins, chicken, hburger steak, potatoes, etc.

if i was avoiding mamas/papas, mariner, landing, nickys, etc....

i would eat lasyones, almost home or merci beaucoup

but, to be honest...i dig cold beers and appetizers at the bar of mamas/papas...scenery is usually pretty solid for natch, too

Lasyones, Merci Beaucoup, Almost Home, Antoon's, Cheng's Garden (is that place still there?), Trail Boss, or The Tin House (that place still there?).

Almost Home would be my recommendation. Away from most other places and restaurants, it's on the lake and has a great assortment of home-style cooking (buffet style).
