"In Louisiana, Extreme Weather Does the Unforgivable: Endanger Crawfish Season"

Good article; bad news.

Why do some of you people make asinine comments like this? It makes you sound like an uneducated idiot (which in fairness, you may very well be). The NYT covers national and international stories.

This particular story was written by someone who covers the Southern U.S. and happens to have been born and raised in Texas. The story itself interviews Louisianans who work in the crawfish industry. Quibble with the points in the article all you want, but it's not like it was written by some dweeb who has never been outside of Manhattan and who has never seen a crawfish.

Seems like you're the idiot who doesn't understand a joke. Idiot.

Not that Texans know much about crawfish as well.

Joke!

Not to mention all that detail about who wrote the article, where they came from and who they interviewed was not in the OP.

Idiot

Jokes are supposed to be funny. Your “joke” wasn’t.

Oh, my bad for assuming that you would actually have taken the initiative to read the article. Carry on.

Here is the link

NYT

Nothing new for denizens of TD except I did learn there is at least a small bit of crawfish tourism. One baw runs and bed and breakfast and charges tourists to harvest crawfish. That my friends is working smarter not harder.

I'm a longtime La resident and an even longer time reader of the NYT. It's very obvious that the Times'writers really likes to cover Louisiana stories, especially if food and drink are part of the topic. They just like to hang in NOLA.

Accuracy? Twice in recent years there have been travel pieces claiming that Lafayette and environs is a great travel destination.
