Nothing fancy, all I have to wear is shorts and a shirt for this trip, so fancy places are out of the discussion.

I noticed in my wife new John Besh cookbook a place that is a poboy place in an old Woolworths Store...would like to hit up places like that to experience the true New Orleans flavor.

We hit up Sal and Judy's last night, have to say, it was damn good (drum fish smothered with lump crab, shrimp, and nicholas sauce).

Thanks for the responses.

Do you have shoes? You know the policy, no shirt , no shoes, no service.........

Could pose a problem

Toups Meatery and check out city park area if you'd like to see more than downtown

Katies is a great lunch spot in that area as well

Sal and Judy's in Lacombe? Weird.

What area of town?

Poboy place in an old Woolworth's. Can't think of what that would be.

Poboys:
Parkway
Killer Poboys
Johnny's

Yes, I have my Sperry's. I left my damn bag of clothes in the living room at home in Lexington. Luckily, I have what I wore and a couple of fishing shirts and one pair of shorts...I had to buy boxers at a Target...so I am good.

Now, on to recommendations what to hit. Taking the daughter to Preservation Hall tonight.

We were thinking the picture in the cookbook is from Parkway. Yes, we are in Lacombe on the bayou.

Not hardly. Book a late lunch or early dinner on open table and you will be fine. A fishing shirt and shorts and you won't be out of place.
