What is a 5 Diamond Restaurant? Is that one of those rating companies that people pay to belong to and then fiercely control how many restaurants or hotels are allowed in?

I am sure the restaurant is great and wonderful but attaching some industry rating to it is pointless.

No good places to eat except the place on top of the contemporary. People will say I'm wrong but if you have good taste listen to me. It's not horrible
Mind you, it's just Olive Garden quality at commanders palace prices so eat in downtown Orlando
Or, the one Disney exception is downtown Disney it's a little better there.

Tell me, what restaurant in Downtown Disney is the one of the best restaurants in all of WDW?

Triple A's rating. Which is good enough for me.

And how does a travel insurance company (or a tire company) arrive at that rating? Who visits the restaurant? Are they anonymous?

Would be better to tell about your experience there than just rely on someone else's judgment. What's the food? Is it British? Tasting menu? Avant garde sushi pizza burritos?

AAA conducts multiple unannounced inspections each year and grades hotels and restaurants for their members.

They call themselves "Modern American" but their dishes are heavily accented by the area of the world the ingredients of that particular dish are from.

We are doing Cali Grill, Hollywood Brown Derby, Citrico's, LeCellier, and the Yachtsman.

Nice. I've done the last 3 in that list and love all of them. Yachtsman had one of the best steaks I've ever had. Citrico's shocked me and the wife (no pics) and was the best meal I've ever had on property there. I still haven't made it to California Grill but want to go now more than ever since they redid the place.

Tells you all you need to know. No offense to the restaurant, but a AAA 5 Diamond is not an unbiased and valid measurement.

What does that tell you exactly? How does it benefit AAA to give bogus ratings?

This. Their menu constantly evolves according to what is in season. It's been 10 years since we have eaten there but it is still one of the best, if not the best, meals that I have ever eaten.

I'm really pumped about the Yachtsman and Citricos. These are the only two that I haven't tried yet. We do Cali Grill every year but it almost fell off the list for Narcoossees's this year but I was outvoted.

So they just build a restaurant to a guide book?

And does anyone really think triple a would strip a rating from say Disney?

Well.. It's been a while since I've been.. But Truly.. The Service was spot on.. I've never encountered a more knowledgeable waiter ... Wine pairing with each course was fantastic.. Food was unique and prepared to a level of perfection unlike any place i've seen .. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate and devoid of children.. So big plus..

Oh Yeah..I almost forgot... it was Awesome....

They stripped several Ritz-Carltons this year.

All that aside, from personal experience it is a well earned rating.
The chef , Scott Hunnel has been a James Beard finalist many many times. He's a finalist this year as well. I don't know about you, but I learned about context clues in school. Taking said clues, I think it's safe to say that Victoria & Alberts is quite the cut above "decent".

Whatever clown, I care no shits if you believe I've dines at those average Disney joints. dude asked for opinions I gave my advice. If you honestly don't believe there aren't many better restaurants in Louisiana than any at that amusement park, then you have no credibility. Plus I only use real rankings, Michelin, not whatever bullshite you cited. So to original poster, if you want to eat well don't eat at Disney, or at least at the parks. But that's not what Disney is for anyway so why any of their fans care about the facts the food isn't all that good is beyond bizarre.
