Going to cook blackened redfish today. Need advice

Anyone ever done this in an air fryer? Too hot to cook outside on the griddle and the wife hates doing it the traditional way, inside in a black iron skillet because it smokes up the house.

Yep. I used Paul Prudhomme's recipe for the blackening rub. Drenched the pieces of redfish in melted butter, then coated with the rub, then into the air fryer at 400 for 16 minutes, turning the fish after 8 minutes.
I cut the fillets into strips because we were making blackened redfish tacos with a Siriacha crema sauce, and it turned out good.

I bake it in the toaster oven until it starts to look cooked, then cover with pats of butter and broil it until perfect.

The only way to do it is to coat the fish in redfish seasoning. Then to dip the entire filter in melted clarified butter than put it on a hot skillet.
Anything else will give a sub par result.

I agree that that is the best way, but I was quite pleased with the air fryer method when serving it as fish tacos. When cooking for just two, it's a whole lot easier and produces good results.

Yeah that is definitely the best way but it turned out pretty good in the air fryer. BTW 7 down votes? Sorry for asking for advice. Won’t happen again

Don’t look at downvotes…literally doesn’t make any difference.
Every advice thread should have a follow-up though. If someone asks for a French 1/4 seafood restaurant and gets 43 responses, it’s bullshite not to follow up and give a where/why/how was it.
