Galatoire's Line Sitter Needed

You might be better off calling the restaurant and seeing if they will give you a name and number for one of the regulars.

I can tell you the whole process changed a three or four years ago with it not being purely about your spot in the line. I went out on a Friday to sit for my wife and her friends and got there at 7:30 or so and was the second one there. Another of the "regular" sitters showed up a little later and took his seat on the other side of the door. I think another regular showed up an hour or so later and they all talked and traded info. I saw one of them go around back and was in the restaurant talking with the folks and I assumed line out which sitter had how many people.

Long story short the regulars had everything already lined up with room for several big groups before the guy came out to take names for the list. I was also told that the new ownership (new as in several years ago) does take reservations from their friends and the special people.

Long story short, my group of five almost didn't get in and I would imagine if it were a busier day, we would have been out of luck.
