Do you taste a difference?

I went cheap and used vegetable oil to fry the turkey today and I didn’t like the way it cooked or the way the turkey tasted.

I did everything exactly the same as I’ve been doing for 30 years but this time I used vegetable oil. Never again. Peanut oil is the way to go IMO

Lesson learned … if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it

One time I went cheap on a recipe ingredient and it altered the taste. Never again.

I use vegetable for light frying small batches of fish or chicken strips. But that ain’t gonna cut it for heavy duty frying. I guess you already feel pretty bad but that’s a hard lesson to learn and ill advised experiment to try for a special occasion. If it’s really too expensive just order a fried turkey from countless options around town.

Learn from it and enjoy time spent with family. Happy Thanksgiving.
