On this we agree. And surprisingly, some of the worst bar customers are the regulars, who expect you to drop everything and attend to their needs before others who were already waiting.
People suck.

I can imagine. In my line of work, people forget that just because their services are out doesn't mean that nobody else's is too. I hate when I tell someone we'll be out within 24 hours and they think that's a travesty because their phone or internet isn't working.

You might benefit from the phrase, "There's ways of doing things." Yes, I realize this doesn't apply on the OT.

I'm certain he was playing around with the count line. I like that this board isn't like the OT but it could stand to do without people getting up in arms and offended at every joke.

Give the kid some water. Problem solved.
Is it not okay for the kid to drink diet Coke? He wasn't suffering heat stroke, Christ sake. He had water and sports drinks previous and wanted a Coke. Just because youre diabetic, doesnt mean you are restricted to water.

They really do. This is why I refuse to work jobs that require interaction with the general public.
I was closed up in my own office for 4 years and unfortunately budget cuts ruined that. Now, thankfully I found a job where I pop in my iPod and work all alone.

hat's wrong with this? I can see certain places where people need to know this but you seriously expect Outback workers to have mental inventory of their products?
Just because some place is a middle of the road chain doesn't mean that the bartender doesn't have the responsibility to know what's behind the bar. Their inventory of beers is maybe 10. Hell, I don't work there and could probably name the beers they have.
Bud
Bud Light
Miller Genuine Draft
Miller Lite
Coors light
Mich Ultra
Some shitty wanna be microbrewed but really macrobrewed beer.
Two European imports like Heineken or Becks.
Corona
It's not rocket surgery and it's not like it's the Chimes or The Cove where their beer inventory is changing hourly (in that case they will have printed menus and a chalkboard for the rotating beers).

You misread my post. I said what's wrong with saying "let me check"..? Because he said he hates when people say they have toc check.
I'm sorry but if you get angry that your server says let me check on something for you, you need to stay the frick home. They're not saying "frick YOU I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE HAVE".. they're saying "let me check and see for you"
COME ON. You're not god.

It takes much, much more than that for me to be offended. I just find it very boring, tiresome - and most of all, typical. Generally, it's also an indication of one's age. Not on the OT of course, but you know what I'm saying.

Yo, you would have enjoyed No Reservations in Spain last night.

I'm guessing he went to the little place on the mountain with the bulldog sign?

There are certain couples we (and a lot of our other friends) will not go out to dinner with - even though they are good friends - because one or both of them usually acts like an entitled arse towards the staff. These folks miss out on a lot simply because they tend to act like idiots at restaurants. I wonder if these folks even realize this...

Most likely, no. On the whole, there are a lot of stupid people out there. And I'm not including the ones on the interwebz.

They know exactly what they are doing; prollun is, they don't think that it's wrong. They deserve to be treated better than others and, by god, they are here to let the world know that!!

Didn't say it wasn't ok. Just found it humorous that you added that he was SO thirsty from playing sports, is a diabetic, and the best option was Diet Coke.
