I usually watch this if nothing else is on tv. I'll probably watch it.

Have you ever watched Chopped? It's not like the Eric Riperts of the world are competing. It's mostly sous-chefs, owners of small restaurants, food truck workers, culinary school instructors, etc.

since it's debut

I've seen chefs who actually went on to win Iron Chef so yea I know who and what is generally on

and in the city of new orleans, the best four they could get are a jazzfest vendor, a poboy "chef" a instructor and who knows what Cody does at Palace

I woulda liked to see a sous chef nola style chopped from:

August
Commander's
Arnaud's
Upperline

no biggie, just saying I would think it could be a better foursome is all

The article states that chefs from La Thai and Upperline were removed from the competition when they let the local media know about their participation. So a few of these contestants are alternates.

Also says the chefs from Manning's, The Irish House and Elizabeth's will be competing on upcoming episodes.

I took a cooking class from him with my fiancee, it was quite fun.

Will be interesting to see what these 4 chefs are like as people. Casting sessions really tend to focus on personality and the ability to put someone into a specific category. i.e. - this is a hipster chef, this is a family man, this is a renegade.

and generally at least one fails from the start, not all the time but the appetizer round seems to throw some of them for a loop

just a hunch but who do you think goes first? Yes I know we don't know basket etc but just off of what they do normally I'm gonna say the Parkview guy gets the heave ho first
