A chain steakhouse is the cornerstone of BR dining.

I'm long gone, but that statement is patently false.
I have spent many years working in Atlanta and would put ..

Dang's up against any Vietnamese in ATL
Maison Lacour against any French in ATL
BLDG 5 would fit nicely on the Beltline or in Kirkwood
Chow Yum Phat would do just fine in O4W
Now pizza ... Antico is the best in the south hands down.

Rocca was really good the first time I went but it ends up just feeling like a poor man’s Domenica.

Taken literally, yes, it’s a less fancy, less high end version of Domenica. But the pizza is just as good, in my opinion. So if you mean it figuratively in the sense that the pizza a lesser version, then I would strongly disagree. It’s basically fits in the space between Domenica and Pizza Domenica.

Our Ruth’s is privately owned. They cut their own beef in house and have a different menu than the chain.

Also - Isn’t your entire food board persona based around you defending chains?

food board persona

That’s funny right there.
Is have a food board persona something to which you aspire?
I love eating in BR but the natives sure are sensitive about RC.
My comments were based on that, as a response to the perception of the BR food scene, and not meant to necessarily agree.

Edit: I don’t defend chains for the most part and almost never go to one. I do comment about assholes who pick on people who like them.
