Not to be a dick but again, did you read any "how to's" before cooking? A ceramic cooker is a whole new ballgame compared to whatever you're used to. I suggest whatever you decide to cook next, Google "how to cook ____ on big green egg".

A few quick notes:
•Never open while cooking to "check"
•Fill your firebox, you should never have to add coals
•Get some sort of indirect/heat deflector plate

Do vegetarian and cleanse yourself out, but then go high protein. That BGE can be your new best friend.

I couldn't fill the fire box as I was trying to smoke without the plate setter. It is not coming here until Monday.

I did open it too much, but not nearly as much as I opened the old chargriller.

obviously, I already have one on order.

I read a lot of how to's but again, this was my first time. I was really just playing with it. I may do another but soon since they are so cheap and everyone ate what I wanted to keep for myself.

Buy a whole chicken spatchcock it and smoke it. So good and pretty healthy. The smoked chicken is good over salads and in gumbo.

If looking for a new thermometer, I've been using the Maverick ET-732 for two years now without any problems. It has two probes to measure both smoker temperature and meat temperature.
