I found both of them at the Publix in Navarre beach of all places. Went into Destin only to visit chan's, which also had both and alot more, and of course to ride the wooden go cart track. Wooden go cart track was closed "due to inclement weather" and I had to settle for the family track. How lame. Did get some great stuff from chan's though.

It is literally the perfect summer beer IMO.

. I hear the Two Hearted Ale is great.
My buddy calls it my "crutch" beer. I'll go for it almost constantly.

Not to hijack, but what's the latest on the whole NOLA bottling canning project?
ETA: Oh, and I tore up some Sierra Nevada Summerfest yesterday. Did my yard work, cranked up some Subdudes, jumped in the pool and enjoyed life for a while.

When they first announced the canning line in late May, they said not to expect the cans to start showing up until around 6 months later. So, I'd guess November/December would be pretty optimistic.

Well, they need to step it up, goddammit!

Beer loving friends... my brother made the finals of Draft Magazine's recipe contest, so I'd appreciate it if everyone go cast a vote.
Vote here: LINK
Click on his recipe, the "Grilled Pork Chop with Spicy Peach Chutney" then click below there to vote!
This is especially important to me because one of the prizes is a dual-tap kegerator that he promised to me if he wins. And if I win, you all win.
ETA: And if you needed another reason, he's an LSU alum as well.

Unibroue Maudite.

Not a fan of unibroue, too much of a strong yeast for me. I did like the ephemere and raftman though. Wished I liked their stuff more b/c they have some mean looking bottles.

I love pretty much anything Unibroue puts out. I really 'cut my teeth' on craft beer with Belgian ales, and Unibroue does some of the best outside of Belgium.

I've enjoyed Allagash's versions over Unibroue (the tripel to be precise). That being said, Belgian Strong Ales in general havent been my thing (also some tripels). I hated Brooklyn Local One, not a fanof La Fin du Monde. The yeast flavor in those two beers reminds me too much of a Saison, which i have despised so far. Not sure why, but I picked up a Bruery Saison Rue for myself also. You tried it yet?

Maybe it's because I haven't had the Allagash enough to know better, but I love me some La Fin Du Monde.

No, I haven't... as always my beer supply is backlogged.

I agree with this.

I just reached that status. I have to tread lightly when buying more beer b/c it has been ending up outside of my stockpile closet and the wife won't have it. I don't want to zip through all of my out of town stuff though.
If you like La Fin du Monde you will prob like New Belgium's Trippel. Similar but without the sweet fruit's in la fin.
