I'm sure hot August nights in hammond took most of the crowd..
But did anyone go to fete rouge Friday?
How was the spread?

Friend went. Said it was insanely packed, almost chaotic. Most of the food they tried was good but nothing that really stood out as incredible. Still had fun.

Was there. Food was generally good and only Bin77 ran out before we made it to their table. Was crowded, but not too bad. Heard they sold out, so 1200 tickets sold plus venders and others. Thought it was better than some of the past iterations I've been to.

This is any big food fest in south Louisiana. I still don’t grasp how people expect to get top cuisine at a festival even if it’s top notch restaurants.

It was packed. Probably the most crowded I've seen. Happy to have events like this back.

Last year was my first year to go, and everyone was remarking how small the crowd was compared to the past. This year, it was crowded, but those some people told me that's how it always was before Covid.
So I think that's just how the event is.
My favorite dish was the tikka masala tamales from Chow Yum Phat, and the turtle soup from Houmas House.
The wine tables were hit or miss compared to last year. Several tables with a bunch of $12 CVS level offerings, but there were a few good tables with great stuff.
