10 years ago when I lived in Texas I did weight watchers and lost 45 lbs in about 5 months. Not enough but a good amount. Then, I just stopped. No good reason why.

I've basically held my weight since then. Have gone up and down a bit around it, but I'm still the same 270 I was 10 years ago.

My insurance company Humana made me a deal - 6 months on them, but I have to go to meetings 2x a month and keep track online. I took them up on it, and went to my first meeting today on my lunch break.

So, anyone else on here doing it? Looks not all that much different than it was 10 years ago... you get daily points and weekly points and you go to a meeting once a week. You get points for exercise that you can eat or not.

Anybody got some good tips, tricks, resources, etc? 28 people at meeting today, I was one of two guys and the other guy is retired and widowed. I know I can eat better... not looking forward to giving up my craft beer though. May drink my weekly points in IPAs...

The lady today did say that 3 Cane's chicken fingers was 9 points. Not too bad.. then she said the sauce was 7!!!

Is this that surprising? Stop with the fried food and sauces (which are full of sugar). Broccoli, brown rice (or cauliflower rice) and a nice steak are better for you and taste better. We (collectively) have such bad eating habits as a country. The South, in particular, is bad.

Regardless, I wish you the best.

I honestly thought the fingers were closer to 6-7 points each, not 3, so yeah, that was a surprise. OTOH, 7 points for the sauce seemed like a lot, but when you think about it... yeah, a lot of fat and sugar.

I have not done weight watchers, but I can tell you for certain (and you likely already know this) that water intake is crucial to your weight loss goals. Eating the right foods is a good start, but don't forget the water. Your results will improve significantly.

I use this chart ( Craft Beer Calorie Estimations) when I am thinking about beers that don't have nutritional information readily available. While you can't take the information at the end-all be-all, it's better than nothing.

No less than 64oz. My best weight loss generally happens when I'm drinking at least 96oz of water per day and not drinking any calories (juice, soda, etc.) I'm sure the top end number varies depending on a person's size and physical activity. I'm no expert in that regard.
