Fantastic dishes folks! Even without the voting, the creativity and results have been worth the price of admission, not to mention that I've learned some things along the way.

These will only get better as we garner more interest from the F&D pool.

Nicely done.

I'm going to open up voting in this thread, I think. Everyone ready?

How does the voting go again?
That's still sort of unclear. We talked about simply voting for first place, but MD and I like the 3-2-1 system, where your first place dish would get three points, your second favorite gets two, and third gets one. It's still up in the air. Frankly, I think the dishes themselves were rewarding enough.

Kudos to everyone who submitted.

This looks fantastic. I'd pay 20+ bucks for a plate of that.

I like R2R's pumpkin polenta idea as well. Only thing different is that I would have cooled it and cut it in triangles with the pork on top. That's just personal perference how I like my polenta though.

The pumpkin corn bread what a good idea as well.

I think we should just vote on a winner.

Or don't vote at all.

I wouldn't mind keeping track. We (I) could start another thread with just the entry pics and go from there.

Degas, I love that you used the pumpkin seeds rather than the pumpkin. It was definitely a curve ball. Did you like the end result from the seeds?
I actually did. Like I mentioned, I thought about blending them with panko, crushed pistachio, or something else, but they turned out ok. Had a nice look to the surface sort of like a corn flake fry, or a KFC extra crispy texture.

One thing I've learned from these contests is to either do a test run if you have time, or have some sort of backup. I would have been completely embarrassed if I had to submit the first batch I fried, and I mean FRIED.
