The problem with Austin beer is that most of the good stuff outside of JEster King is mostly draft only... Live Oak, (512), Whip In, PintHouse, and Blackstar.
I'll add...
Live Oak Primus is a damn good beer to go along with thier Hefe which is world class.
(512) Pecan Porter, Five, IPA, Cascabel Cream, WBDPP, and Peach Sour are all good beers. Not sure why (512) isn't getting any love.

The two brewers with the best IPA lineups in Oregon are draft only. I believe Comrade, in CO is the same way. It's not that unusual.

Forgot about this one. great beer. But like you said, its draft only. The rest of their lineup is pretty mundane. There IPA is really not good. If we start talking draft only stuff then Whip In's stuff is up there. Blackstar is avg. IMO. We did a flight last year and nobody liked anything they poured.

Yea, I should have said "reality" instead of "problem"
There's nothing wrong with draft only. Especially for small production breweries and self distributors. It does make it more difficult to mule and ship, though, which is vital to a beer nerd these days.

Many beers were had tonight. No pic of the whole shebang, but LBD was:

Blackstar's stouts and porters are thier best beers and if you don't going during the winter you'll miss them. The rest of thier stuff is pretty lackluster. I go to Pint House over Blackstar now. Of course, Whip In is better than both of them.

I go to Pint House
Pint House has an IPA I've heard good things about but I always end up sidetracked at Draught house and never make it down the street.

I forgot about (512) all together but I agree their porter is great.
We went to Black Star last year and my wife loved their Berliner Weisse, Waterloo. Of the couple I had at lunch their on Friday, the Conceit was the better, kinda of a tart citrusy pale ale.
