Next up a taste of homebrewed double black IPA before filling a growlito for a friend.

Followed up with a Fullers Vintage 2012. Such a smooth beer.

Sat down with a friend who was already drinking the other day. He is not a maven but had ordered La Fin Dumonde. He had never had it and was loving it......I told him to try Maudite......then someone asked me what something on the La Fin Dumonde label meant...."Bottled on Lees".....I had google.....that is tonight's Maven trivia question.....WHAT DOES "BOTTLED ON LEES" mean?

Bad cork. As you know from experience, La Fin du Monde and Maudite are both normally way carbonated and hard to pour (La Fin especially).

You are Uber Maven. Bottled with Yeast, which is essentially bottle conditioned. I guessed that Lees was a river.

Leave it to the fricking french-canadians to use pretentious terminology. Just say bottle conditioned. I've only ever heard of lees being used in regards to wine, but a quick search proves I'm wrong, so TIL lees is also the by-product of secondary beer fermentation.

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe "Lees" is an old, old wooden ship used during the civil war era
