I haven't tried the #1 yet. I'll have to pick one up soon.

They are both great. I think I might like the 1 better, but further study is needed.

You are going to be there for a month or more, go for it. You will drink it.

SBD: Stone SSR. I love this style of beer.

Ha! Yes, the Local 1 reminds me of La Fin du Monde, which makes it drain material for you.

I don't know about tours or anything up there but they do make great beer. Their Black Chocolate Stout defined my winter.

I'm still new at this but I have a question. I tried Stone IPA and really didnt like it. But I really enjoyed their arrogant bastard. Is there really a huge difference in the two or am I just imagining it? And if I liked the arrogant bastard, should I enjoy the SSR?

Best stout I've ever had and it is 10% ABV. It hides the 10% well IMO.

For the most part, Stone is heavy on the hops and the Arrogant Bastard is much more hoppy than the regular IPA. Sounds like you may be a hophead.

I think so. The SSR has the same floral/citrus hops yet with roasted malts added. Like mixing an Arrogant Bastard with a porter. I love the style.

The main difference I can think is that the IPA is grassier. Less malty and just plain hop forward. It's an acquired taste for sure.
Id think that you would like SSR. It's maltier than the IPA.

Thanks. Living in Cali I see Stone so much I often don't pay close attention. I also go in waves regarding stone.
