You don't like the stiff dew of the PNW?

Anyone know if Parish has any good releases around July 1? I'll be in the Lafayette area that day and will probably take a trip to Parish

If they do, be prepared to get in line the night before because they'll sell out in 27 minutes. As a consolation prize you can buy kegs of canebrake. They're cranking out that shite.

TD - Make sure you visit the Pearl District and hit up the Breakside Hop Lab. They have lots of experimental beers there that you won't find at the Dekum location. The Hop Lab is within walking distance of 4 or 5 other breweries, so it's worth the trip. Deschutes, Fatheads, 10 Barrel, and Bridgeport are all in the vicinity. 10 Barrel and Deschutes have great vibes to them.

If you go to Slabtown, try the pretzel. Totally different from the pretzel where you're at. It's awesome, though.

By Saturday, our weather will be better than anybody else's weather on the board...

Welp, today, I would hit up Great Notion. Make sure to try the Blueberry Muffin and Grapefruit Zest sours.

Right next door is Pine State Biscuits, and a block down is Salt and Straw, if you like ice cream. They have a flavor right now, called Breakside Brewery’s Spent Grains & Bacon S’mores. Sounds pretty interesting...

quote:

Beer brewers are left with tons of spent grains in the process of making the microbrews Portland is known for—so we worked with Breakside Brewing to rescue a variety of grains and malts after the brewing process. We start by toasting the spent grains to bring out their sweetness, then grind them into a powder that forms the base of this campfire-ready ice cream. This flavor also utilizes another pivotal link in our local food waste-reduction chain—pigs from Naked Acres, which are fed surplus food from Urban Gleaners. We transform pork belly from the near-zero-waste local farm into bacon in our kitchen, which we use to make a bacon marshmallow fluff that streaks itself across each scoop.
