the last few weeks of 2012 were brutal excess of eating and beer.
the last half is what did me in. Once Mrs LST started with the pregnancy eating, my will-power went to shite, and then the bigger beers on top of that... well, I have a healthy winter coat to shed this year

You're a stronger man than I am. After a long day/week, there's no way in hell I would be able to follow your 15% rule.
15% doesn't apply to weekends.
Seriously, I've been getting home from work so late, I barely have time to see my kids before they go to sleep. As much as I want to crack open a beer as soon as I walk in the door, it just hasn't happened.

This why I'm observing "NO Beer January"...so far so good. 15 days and zero beers. I've been working out six days a week so far and feeling great...honestly the eating has been tougher for me than the no-beering but I've been consistent. I've had nothing but water to drink so far and have eaten healthy every day. I still want to shed about 15 total pounds--about 11 or so more to go and I'm well on pace to get that done.
The Fall was the most gluttonous I've ever allowed myself to become.
