I have a cousin who lives in Corvallis but can't get her to send me any block 15.

I have heard from multiple people that Block 15 beer used to be awful. Apparently their owner/brewer learns quick. But from what I hear, they have gone from suck arse to world class in a couple of years. Now, I consider them to be one of those rare breeds that brews many different styles really well.

You should be nicer to your cousin...

Comes with the territory. A lot of Oregonians are liberal as hell, but don't frick with their guns...

4BD is a Dogfish Head 90 Minute. More Dogfish Head malt balance, but this bottle is fresh and enjoyable. I wouldn't want to pound many of these, but it is good to revisit it from time to time.

Phone charging so no pic.

I wasn't a huge fan of the 90 minute. I understand what they are going for, and I'm sure it's wonderful if you like that style IPA, but I'm like you, I just couldn't drink several at a time.

It was the first IPA I tried and it put me off them for a few more years.

It is not my style either. Too malty sweet, even when fresh.

I'm lucky I guess. My first IPA was good people's IPA, which is pretty middle of the road (that's not a knock, I still like it) so it never turned me off. I think my second was jai alai and I was hooked after that.

I get it for sure, but at least 90 Minute smells/tastes/drinks like a DIPA--just a malty, bready DIPA, which some people like. It is too malty sweet for my tastes too, but I can drink one from time to time. Jockamo had very little in common with any IPA.
