Dear 8 pound 6 ounce sweet baby Jesus, I am staying awake so I can see 20 pages in a FBD thread. Grant me the strength to keep my eyes open even though I am somewhat intoxicated.

Not sure what you mean here. You don't like stouts or porters?

We are here to help. First off, dark beer is a vague term. I could give you dark beers that are bland and tasteless or dark beers that would grow hair on your hair......

Good example. I think porters, although black as ink, are lighter than IPAs, which are light in color.

West coast beers are overhyped, only reason they are so big is because we don't have easy access.

Very true. I've spent most of the night trying to explain to my brother that just because a beer is darker than bud light doesn't mean it has some crazy flavor to it. It probably has more flavor than bud light, but so does my tap water.

I find this is when I find clarity and typing flows like the Missouri into the O-HI-o.

Yes, from SC. I bought a sixer in Montgomery last year when I was there for the LSU/Auburn game. It is labelled an extreme IPA and Beer Advocate says it is a DIPA, but I think it is more like an old ale. It has very little hop component and reminds me of North Coast Old Stock Ale. The 12.5% ABV is just what I needed at midnight.
