But back to our Shostakovich vs. Elvis discussion.....sure....Shostakovich sold out....but it was to save his life.....and Symphony No. 5 is widely regarded as subversive while being acceptable to the authorities....Elvis sold out for the money.....which was acceptable to the colonel.

I'm the end, just like Elvis....Shostakovich is accused of derivative compositions stealing from others before him......I would haveblived to see a Blue Hawaii Shostakovich concert though

I was disappointed in SY last weekend. Came across a lot more biscuity than it has been in the past. Preach! is still on point among others that I can't remember the names of.
