The competition here is a huge win for us drinkers. 5 years ago I was mostly drinking beers from everywhere else, hoarding back from my travels. Now I'm perfectly content only drinking local. B52 for sours, brash and ingenious for stouts, SpindleTap and ingenious for IPAs. It's glorious. And that's only 4 of the 50 breweries.

I used to live in Jacksonville and work in Portland. This is nothing.

Observations:

Best brewery I've tried is Odd 13.

Haven't been to Comrade, Weldwerks,or Avery.

Gas is just as expensive here as it is in Oregon, but I have to get out of my car in 8 degree weather and pump it myself. As much as I dislike the principal of not being able to pump my own fas, I still miss it in the dead of the winter...

A 5 dollar beer should cost 5 dollars, not $5.40.

I think you would be surprised...

If a beer sells out in a minute, there is some unmet demand

Well Brash and St Arnold have collaborated together to make a NEIPA, so consider me shocked as shite.

That's about right. Not everyone can be world-class. If you had 100 breweries, the 8 of them would be fantastic, and their beers would not sell out in 1 minute. They might take a couple of days.

Just saw this popup

NOLA Brewing is celebrating Nine Years of Beers!
It's been nine years since we started drinking that sweet NOLA nectar and the team at NOLA Brewing invites you to join them to celebrate with a party full of great live music, McClure's Barbecue and hot crawfish, and craft beer straight from the source!
Music Line-up:
6 pm: Jonathon "Boogie" Long
8 pm: Robert Randolph and the Family Band
Special Release Beers:
“Bienville Tricentenni-Ale"
After a long turbid mash, this 6% sour ale is a tribute to the city's 300th anniversary that spent three years in neutral oak barrels and then was blended with a small percentage of one-year stock before bottling.
“Pineapple Upside Down Cake”
An Imperial India Pale Ale with pineapple, vanilla and lactose for a sweet, hazy, tropical experience and double dry hopped with Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic hops, coming in at 7.6%.
"Sauvage"
Just in time for NOLA’s anniversary party is the latest release of the NOLA Funk Series’ award-winning Brett Pale Ale dry hopped with Galaxy hops at 6.7% ABV.

One of the guys there has a 74 911.....and works as a bartender at craft & Growler..... He has 4 other porches and some other cars...... A Ferrari and an Aston Martin maybe. Tips are good as a bartender..... He had some whale clown shoes in the back of his Porsche and it exploded on the way over..... So sad. He had a cool Pic of the exploded vessel.... I told him if he drove an accord this wouldn't have happened.
