Agreed. Ketchup on a hot dog in itself is heresy.

Fresh bun. Chili, cheese and hotdog. That's it. I'm not a raw onion fan.

Most of these companies use ground out of date Alpo with cheap cumin, and garlic added. All about the same.

Would ever eat canned chili. Make a chili with no beans a little thinner for hot dogs.

You would if you came to my house. And you'd love it.

Bun, dog, mustard, cheese, chili, more cheese and mustard, an absurd amount of finely chopped onion.

Bun, dog, mustard, diced onion, chili, shredded cheddar cheese, hot sauce.

You might put the hot sauce on before the cheese. That's cool. If you want another layer of cheese, put it on your toasted bun before the hot dog. We call that the "cheesy bottom."

I used to love Hormel canned chili for chili dogs. Not sure why it bothers me so much, but when I read the ingredient list and saw oatmeal and textured soy flour it was a turn off. I liked it before I knew it, so I should still be able to like it.

It takes like 15 minutes to brown a lb of ground meat, throw in some garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. And it won’t have 900mg per serving of sodium like the canned crap has.

I like Hormel no beans, add cumin, chili powder, worchestershire
Fun fact, I lived in SE Ohio about 20 years ago. They didn't put chili on hot dogs, they used some crap called hot dog sauce. Basically tomato sauce. Nasty
