Fat Man Gripes: Hard Crusty Oatmeal Creme Pies

Probably my favorite snack since I was a kid. Every now and then I’ll score a fresh box of the deluxe ones and they’re soft and fresh.
Recently I’ve quit buying them because they’ve come to resemble cardboard. The oatmeal feels stale like it has been sitting in a wear house for 8 months during the summer.
I know this is a minor gripe to most but there’s nothing more disappointing to a fat man than getting a box for the house and they taste like old shoe leather with creme.

As someone that has consumed more Oatmeal Creme Pies than most, I can honestly say that I have never experienced this.

I have never had this, and I have a satisfying Big Oatmeal Creme Pie with my coffee every morning.

When we were kids we'd unscrew the pie, place a peanut butter cup in the middle then smash it back together. Called it the All American. Heading to the curb store right now.
