Immersion blender

I get so much more use out of mine (Cuisinart) than I ever thought I would. Great call. One huge benefit I've found is buying canned San Marzano tomatoes, which where I shop only come whole-peeled, and turning them into a tomato sauce for use in any number of dishes.

I LOVE my immersion blender. I don't have a regular blender, only a food processor, so making soups, sauces and salsa were a huge pain in the arse for me.

I got a cordless Cuisinart. It was a Christmas gift from my sweet Mama and she worked SO hard to find me a cordless (I live in a super old house and outlets are scarce and fuses blow easily).

It is rechargeable but I've had it for almost a year and I haven't once had to plug it in. Highly recommend.

My wish list has three cookbooks (Indian-ish, Lasagna: A Baked Pasta Cookbook, and Nothing Fancy: Unfussy Food for Having People Over).

Then a pretty gold cocktail shaker. And matte gold serving utensils.

I keep thinking about an air fryer, but I also feel like I'm at maximum kitchen gadget capacity. I rarely pull out the Instant Pot, the crock pot, the fryer, etc. So I don't thing the air fryer would be any different.

I was on the fence about the air fryer too, but as it turned out we use it far more often than the other gadgets. I like the instant pot well enough, but in the battle of instant pot vs air fryer, the air fryer wins every time.

This is probably a dumb question since it is cured, but what is the storage situation on those once you've cut into it?

Hey Gnar! I grabbed lunch up there a couple weeks ago with some family that came into town. The margaritas and Sangria were great

This place does it right for the most part. Super authentic Mexican food that’s almost always incredible. I keep coming back for the margaritas though. The owner has a “mystery margarita” every Wednesday. Last week’s was a watermelon jalapeño margarita. Was unreal

Let me know if you are ever in golden again, we could grab a beer if you’re down.

I had a Thermapen for a few years and it finally died. IMO, you can get by just as well spending $13 on this knock-off.

There's nothing special about Thermapen other than the name. They used to really standout for the speed they read temps but, over the years, the technology has gotten much cheaper and ubiquitous...basically leaving them to charge an arm and a leg for nothing more than their brand name.

Anybody ever use a Toadfish Koozie?

Apparently they're (almost) unspillable. Thinking about grabbing one as a secret santa gift.
