spread out all over the living room/bedrooms.
My mother would beat our asses if we went out of the kitchen with food or drink. Now my wife will beat our asses.
And don't even THINK about bouncing or throwing that ball in the house.
So much for sweet.

We ate together every evening at the dinner table until we became teenagers and practice/games cut into family dinners. The only times we were allowed to eat in front of the TV was "pizza night" or do-nuts before we left for church on Sunday morning.
My daughter is two and we overspent on a dining room set because I love to cook and we intend to raise our child(ren) in a fashion similar to our experience.

My parents ate on TV trays in the den in front of the TV. Me and my sister did the same thing in our bedrooms in front of the TV. We were more interested in our TV shows than what was going on at school, which we usually talked about in the Kitchen when we got home from school. When it was time for supper, I wanted to eat, NOT talk or listen. I think we all did. Very lose knit family.......

Every night. On Sundays we dressed in jackets and ties until I was about 15.
Were the butler and maids there every day, glass?

my mom, step dad and I had dinner together every night at the table...but only because my step dad is an OCD freak and was so worried about getting food on the couch...nothing to do with family time...in fact he watched the news from the table during dinner and if anyone talked he bitched for 6 hours.

when i was really young, we had dinner at the table together. by the time i was in elementary school, however, we had dinner in front of the TV. We ate dinner together/at the same time but in front of the TV.
This sums up my experience.
