The problem is people from South LA have no fricking clue what gravy is. They know what they call gravy. And it's gravy. And it's good. But they think that it is the only kind of gravy. They live their entire lives in ignorance of what the rest of the planet thinks constitutes a gravy and have a zero tolerance approach to other gravies and dismiss them as wrong and unfit for human consumption. Then they fight amongst themselves about the subtleties each little region has and disparage each others gravy. And grandmothers. Then their arguments divulge into what in their opinion seperates gravies, stews, piquants, gumbos and all manner of no solid food dishes from each other. Then then call out other family members, get drunk, fight, makeup then get drunker. I've seen it a thousand times.

Absolutely is.. biggest rant of absolutely nothing, ever posted. Everybody knows Cajuns don't argue amongst themselves about this. It's the ignorant rednecks that say "Gravy is roux plus milk or roux plus stock" that get all perturbed about it that we have to set straight.

So what do you call the gravy you put over biscuits? Or country fried chicken?

You need to go back and reread your definition of gravy in the "gravy argument" thread. It received multiple downvotes and with good reason.

It's right before the part where you got slammed for saying au jus isn't gravy.

And if you DO know what you're doing.. and can get your head out of your arse.. you can make a fantastic gravy from fried chicken without adding roux.

Bdevil is good people. And I'm sure he makes badass gravy. It's just a type of gravy though. I would hate to be limited to just that one.

And that's a seperate gravy from what I'm talking about. Thanks for playing though.

You seriously are the most pretentious yet ignorant poster I've seen ever.

It's not that you can't cook because you make white gravy, you can't cook because you can't make a gravy without a roux.

So not only can you not cook, you can't spell, read or remember what you post, either.

You sure get mad for somebody that doesn't know how to make gravy but still assumes themself to be an authority.
