English pizzeria takes Una Pizza’s top spot in 2026

I was genuinely disappointed this evening to see Napoli on the Road take the top spot from Una Pizza Napoletana in this year’s 50 Top Pizza rankings released in Naples. I have eaten at Napoli on the Road and there is no question that the pizza is deserving of its place among the very best, which perhaps makes the result more interesting rather than less. Still, Una Pizza Napoletana had become, in my mind, the standard by which the rest were measured. There was something about eating Anthony Mangieri’s pizza that made all the talk about rankings seem superfluous. Napoli on the Road is an exceptional pizzeria and I understand perfectly well why 50 Top Pizza has placed it at the summit. I simply preferred the view from the mountain when Una Pizza Napoletana was standing there.
