I've never been to dine, only the bar, Emeril is pretty dead these days compared to other spots........

I was there on a Thursday night in March or April and it was packed.

Agreed; they do a great business there. It's not as fashionable among locals as some of the hip places, but they're definitely not hurting.

I am hoping y'all are joking about Commanders.

Nope.

It's sad. I don't expect people to wear a three piece suit every time they eat out. But when I'm at commanders or Emeril's, the atmosphere is kind of spoiled when some rube walks in wearing shorts, tevas, and a fedora.

We commented that night that the crowd in our section (where the wine is) all looked to be locals. I can't describe how we could tell, but people seemed to have been there before.

I haven't heard the word "rube" in quite sometime. We have them everywhere here in Seattle. They walk into Mortons and think it's acceptable to wear shorts, tevas, Star Wars tee, and a fedora.

Not sure about dinner but last times I've been to Emeril's it's been for lunch and it is casual at that time. No tie required at lunch or dinner. I've never worn a coat.

I wouldn't recommend shorts and tshirts.
