I love a drink while making dinner. No kids or wife in the kitchen. Just me, my etouffee, and my bourbon. Underrated pleasure in life.

My wife cooks better with a beer in her hand. But, she's from Ville Platte, so there's pretty much always a beer in her hand.

A while back I made a cognac crabmeat cream sauce while I drank the rest of the bottle of cognac. I got too drunk and don't remember finishing it. Wife put it away in the fridge. I tasted it the following day and it was one of the better sauces I've made.

I do all the cooking in our house and a glass of red wine while cooking is wonderful.
