I like the boudin from Dons but was severely disappointed in the deboned stuffed chicken I bought from there. It was bland and the the rice dressing flavorless. Always picked them up from Heberts in Maurice and they are awesome. Dons not so awesome.

Poches

You are not missing much. I would have it really really low on my list. Bottom 2-3 places for me right there with Jerry Lees for places that receive mention on this board.

Hebert's stuffed chickens are better than Don's..

however, Don's has "one" of the best boudins period.

I would say that Don's and Billy's tie for first and then there is a group of second place guys and then the rest.

Man I got billys last weekend and it was good as usual but really bland.. Dunno if it was a bad batch or what but boudin should never be bland.

strange, they've always been pretty consistent

Hebert's stuffed chickens are the best I've had anywhere. I haven't had every stuffed chicken there is to have, but I've had enough to know they do a superior job. Their stuffings are superior. At least, the cornbread, rice and sausage are. I don't get the others.

When y'all debate boudin you have to split in categories. Smoked vs non

Big difference

Broccoli and cheese is probably my favorite stuffing. You have to at least try it once.
The crawfish is really good too.

I've tasted the others, but I wasn't crazy about the cheese in my chicken. The others are so savory and that's what I like.

I buy their rice dressing base quite often. It's darn good stuff. Sometimes, they have it fresh, but it's usually frozen. Works either way.
