Really like that Zuppardos makes an effort to bring in a nice variety of king cakes. my goto grocery store.

I love that store and wish it was a little closer to my house.
I was in there a few years ago and there was a line of 25 or so people waiting for the delivery of the Dong Phoung king cakes. LOL

$70 shipped anywhere in the states.

This ain't the price you'll pay at the 20 or so places they distribute to across the city.

And to be fair, DP is elite, but barely worth what they charge in town. These places are starting to get high in their own supply. It's king cake ffs, it's not supposed to be bougie and expensive. It kinda kills the whole spirit of finding the baby and buying the next cake.

Suckers. There's more than a few places selling DP around town that won't have a line of more than 5-10 people if any. And most people are amateurs who grab the plain instead of the almond creme.

Last year, I honestly saw DP king cakes shelf turding at places. They're riding the hype. They aren't doing goldbelly if they can't commit to putting out a frick ton of product.

Edit: just to be clear, I say more power to them. I don't think their quality dropped last year at all, and I hope they don't this year. It's cool imo that they're big enough to partner with goldbelly now.

I finally had a DP cake a couple years back and didn't understand the hype. It was good, but not worth waiting in line or paying an arm and a leg for.

They are worth what someone will pay and from what I remember they are selling around 60k a year. Probably more now.

Got mine in today.

This year they put the icing and sugar on the side and you have to apply to the cake. Good for those that dont like the sugar I guess.

Cream cheese was damn good and im gonna get into the strawberry shortly.
