No that's just weird. To much effort, just pinch and go

I saw a guy dipping his tails in ketchup this weekend and I just First time I saw that. Ridiculous imo.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. At least throw some horseradish in and make it cocktail.

I go ketchup, lea & perrins, and whatever hot sauce is available. That's mostly for the sausage and potatoes though.

Like with a steak, if it's done right from the start I shouldn't have to, as it would mask the flavors that cause me to crave it.

With crawfish especially, I don't get covering it in a fat based sauce like mayo or butter. That's not what I am shooting for when I think of crawfish. For steak, I'm also not looking to mask the flavor. Compliment and bring out the natural flavors with salt and pepper yes, but mask no.

Pretty much, who says "I'm craving dip" instead of "I'm craving crawfish"?

Yes. I love taking inherently delicious foods cooked and seasoned in awesome spices and then masking all that flavor with mayonnaise and ketchup.

this, never understood it, and my wife does it all the time

Who says let me dunk this delicious piece of crawfish in a slop of mayo?

Me

I guess one could say that about anything that someone would use a dip for. And some I dip, some I don't.

I like variety.

People confuse me. The older I get I think the easier I'm finding it to just drink more and rationalize less. It seems to make more sense in the end.
