Dad and I are heading to Avery Island for the tour, and New Iberia looks like best place to stay the night before.
Like below $100(roughly) before tip, with 1-2 drinks each.

What's the name? I've never been to New Iberia.

There's a guy that posts on Eat the Boot who has lots of posts in the New Iberia area.

Sadly, New Iberia like most small cities has become a haven for Chinese and Mexican restaurants.
Jane's Seafood on Jane Street is outstanding. They are not open everyday. Go early. They get really crowded.
Lizzie's is downtown on E Main Street. Outstanding food.
Tito's La Casa located at Parkview Drive at N Lewis Street has outstanding steaks and Italian dishes
Another poster mentioned the restaurant on Jefferson Island. The restaurant on Jefferson Island is not open for dinner (lunch only).

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. Tito's seems most likely so far, but damn those seafood prices at Jane's are great. I am assuming local, right?

Actually didn't realize Lafayette was that close to New Iberia, so guess could consider around the southern part of Lafayette area
